Welcome!

To our valued patients,

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my wife, Dr. Margaret O’Neill.  Meg and I were together for over half of our lives.  I have no words to describe the deep sense of loss I feel.  Aside from her family and faith, caring for her patients’ needs gave her life its greatest meaning.  Even after the birth of our son, some two and a half years ago, she arranged her life so that she could continue with her medical practice.  She cared deeply about each and every one of you and at the end of her life wanted to make certain that her patients would continue to receive the same quality medical care she continuously strove to provide.

As a consequence, we have selected Dr. Samantha Toerge to continue the practice.  This was not an easy decision.  My wife had incredibly high standards when it came to the care of her patients and was deeply committed to finding appropriate solutions to even the most challenging medical problems.  I well remember many nights she spend looking things up on line or pouring over medical texts to find the proper answer to an esoteric medical issue.  We wanted to make sure we had found just the right person to ensure our patients’ continuing health.  In Dr. Toerge, we believe we have found that person. By coincidence, my wife had actually talked to Dr. Toerge about joining the practice earlier this year.

Dr. Toerge, a resident of Washington, DC, joins us from a highly regarded practice located in Northern Virginia—not having to cross the Potomac will be a major blessing for her!  Her roots in the DC metro area run deep, as she did her residency in dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident.  We are attaching a more detailed description of her impressive biography. I am confident that she will serve you well in the coming years. Dr. Toerge's website can be found at  www.chevychasedermatologycenter.com

I truly hope, as a remembrance for my wife, that you will continue to stay with the practice and trust Dr. Toerge with your health care needs.  In addition, if any of you have anecdotes about my wife that you might be willing to share, I would hope that you would send them to me.  I am assembling a book filled with pictures and stories about Meg so that my son will have something to remember her by. My wife's memorial page can be found at: http://www.legacy.com/guestbook/DignityMemorial/guestbook.aspx?n=margaret-oneill&pid=167002639&eid=viewgb&eid=viewgb

Warmly, and with great appreciation for your years of patronage,

Michael O’Neill (and Luke too)
